BOMB is an excellent platform for nucleic acid isolation. We did it several times amazingly fast and always getting reliable consistent results (with regards to the different person handling it). High DNA concentrations and good quality (from 500k cells the cc of TNA=0.3-0.4 ug/ul; A260/280=1.9 and A260/230=2). But what I love the most is the quick and effective lysis step. Lastly, there is no need for using antifoam 204 (Sigma). The 2 ml of the magnetic beads will be roughly enough for 5000 samples…No more need for expensive kits for DNA/RNA isolation.
Thank you, guys, for providing us easy and efficient protocol. I am encouraging more people in my Institute to test this protocol and have better DNA/RNA.
